Tools and techniques in microbiology. Structure of and comparison of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; Systematic classification of bacteria, fungi and viruses as well as their morphology, ecological and economic importance; Bacterial, fungal and protozoan nutrition, metabolism and growth. Antigens and antibodies. Microbial variation and heredity.
